BOSSS storms France for I-STEM Competition- Wins medals

By Garba Usman Gero Nigeria’s contingents to International Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (I-STEM) Olympiad and students of Bishop Okoye Spiritan Secondary school have returned from France after a successful outing at the World stage of the competition held in Paris. The students who won gold, silver and bronze in various categories in the competition landed at Port Harcourt International Airport amidst merriment by the representatives from BOSSS who were on hand to receive them. Onyekachi Ezeani-Obi and Lotachukwu Okoroafor won gold in coding and mathematics respectively. Beverley Bassey, Chizi Jed Badume, Toby Odegie and Ezeani-Obi Ifeanyi won silver in Maths, coding and science. David Ayidu and Nicholas Adaighofua also returned with bronze in mathematics and coding. Two of the contingents Chidoziem Okeke and Pascaline Ekwonye received honorary award category. While reacting after their victorious outing, the principal of BOSSS, Rev Fr Jude Ekemgba C.S.Sp said he was delighted to have the students come back with such medals. He told the students that BOSSS would remain proud of their accomplishments and the honour they have brougth to the school and Nigeria and promised to continue to support the students of BOSSS to unlock the God given potentials in them. He charged them to uphold discipline and hardwork so as to sustain the feat achieved. While also reacting shortly after welcoming the students, the Vice Principal/ Dean of Studies Rev Fr JohnPaul Edoziem C.S.Sp said it was gratifying to see how the students fought through the various stages before dominating the international stage. “we are happy they went, saw and conquered gallantly. We are proud of them and the feats so achieved. To have passed through all the hurdles and emerge victorious is gratifying” he said. Equally speaking, Mr Camilus Udoudo who coordinated the students expressed joy for the success story and congratulated the school for defeating students from other countries around the world.
